Last updated: 17 May 2006

What can you do right now to help stop a return to nuclear power? There's one quick and easy thing that will help to make a difference. Please do it now if you possibly can:

Write to the government

The best thing you can do right now is write a letter to the government minister responsible for nuclear energy, Alan Johnson, explaining why you oppose building a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK. Individually written letters (on paper) always work best, but you can send a fax or an email too.

Please send your letters to:

The Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP
Secretary of State for Trade and Industry
Department of Trade and Industry
1 Victoria Street
London
SW1H 0ET
Email: mpst.johnson@dti.gsi.gov.uk
Fax: 020 7215 5468

Here it is in three different formats (all exactly the same - just choose the format you prefer): Microsoft Word (DOC), rich text format (RTF), and PDF.

Longer example letter you can copy

If you'd rather have a more meaty letter: Ilana Cravitz of the New Nuclear Power? No Thanks network has sent us a model letter written by some anti-nuclear experts. You can copy or edit into your own letter. Thanks Ilana! Here it is in the three different formats: Microsoft Word (DOC), rich text format (RTF), and PDF.
